Researchers from the Software Institute at the Università della Svizzera italiana (USI) have been recently awarded at ICPC 2017, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, for the Code Time Machine, a tool developed by Emad Aghajani, under the supervision of Andrea Mocci, Gabriele Bavota and Michele Lanza.

The Code Time Machine allows software developers to easily analyze and understand how the software system they are working on is evolving over time, fostering the identification of problematic code changes (e.g., changes negatively impacting the code understandability).

The tool is integrated in the IntelliJ Idea IDE and it is publicly available on GitHub, while a video showing the tool in action is available on YouTube.
